Eep, didn't mean to leave you out of the suggestion post. I just thought you had said you wern't making any more new ducks. My apologies. (If I keep on like this, we'll have to rename this thread "nanovivid apologizes to wunderwood (who probably wasn't insulted in the first place)" ;)).

I did say that. I guess I liked your idea so much that I had to try it.

Don't worry nanovivid. I'm gonna bug him to keep up with it. I don't want to be the only one making 'em. Especially if you keep coming up with all these suggestions! I'd never get finished.

I had to put them side by side so I could see the difference... and it's dramatic!

I think he's nearly there (and looking amazing), but his pecs are still looking just a little boob-y. Maybe they need to be squared off a bit like in this pic.

Sorry this one is giving you trouble... but a challenge is good, right? ;)

Hm... I think 2 feels a bit more natural than 3, actually. 2 is just about perfect, except for the pec problems. I've been trying to figure out advice I can give in getting the look right, and everything I've come up with doesn't sound quite right. Here's my best theory though:

I think the problem is that the way the shading and shadows are, it looks like his pecs start lower than they should and appear to be small and rounded.

Here are some more pictures... hopefully one of these will be helpful:
one
two
three

Of course, we could always dress him up... ;)

I feel bad saying no again... if you get frustrated with it, I'll definite be satisfied with #2.

nanovivid wrote:In the "for the future" department, I have a few more ideas that I think would make cool Adiumys. Of course, if anyone else makes actual requests for avatars, by all means do those first.
  • Godzilla... Adiumy in a rubber lizard suit!
  • Adiumy in medieval knight's armor. The visor is down when he's asleep, up when he's awake.
  • Ninja Adiumy! I know one already exists, but he doesn't look that much like a ninja to me (sorry Laura!). I think the main problem is the blue goggles, which make me think "deep sea diver" rather than ninja. And he needs a sword instead of a grapling hook. How else is he supposed to flip out and kill people? After all, Adium is the ultimate chat client and should have an Adiumy with Real Ultimate Power
Lys, feel free to make or not make these as you see fit. You are an amazing artist and are doing a wonderful job of taking over where Laura left off. Thanks for all your hard work!
I know I said this last time someone suggested the ninja having a sword, but ninjas don't use swords. They're silent assassins. The closest thing they have are these really cheap swords made specifically so that they could just leave them behind, because they didn't normally carry them.

I agree with the deep sea diver thing though. I think the grappling hook is great, but shrukiens would be awesome.

Cheesechick: "shuriken" not "shrukiens" There is no plural form of nouns in Japanese ;)

And make that nija throw the shurikens on alert!

And make the connecting icon thing with a shuriken!

zaudragon: you mean "ninja" not "nija", right? ;) And to throw "shuriken" not "shurikens" since there's no plural in Japanese, right? ;)

bgannin: I made a typo in "nija"

And Japanese has plural forms in pronouns (like we and us and they and…)
Just not in nouns!

Hai 8)

Shuriken would still be proper in all places then regardless :D

We should have a conductor (as in orchestra; also maestro) Adiumy! With the little suit and the stick…

Which reminds me, how about an Adiumy in a tux? It might look like a penguin :)

I know it is just made by stealing things from other adium ducks and pics, but here is my adium duck:

PS: The things beside him are some comics and a badminton feather.

I like yours except for the black background. Was it supposed to be transparent?

Thanks. But I am sorry top say that the background was not meant to be transparent, because in Adium the black background ways cooler in my opinion, but here (without the big icons messange style) I see that the whithe background is the best and therefore, here is the pismoduck with white backgound:
