My PowerBook G3 went down yesterday, with the screen blaffering and the machine just saying bang, bang, bang because of some electricity faults within the machine. Luckily my dad fixed it, so now I would be very happy to have a phoenix duck (burning or something). (you see it waked up from ashes)

I'm still alive. But I have less time to devote to Adium stuff these days. You never sent me the files you have for darth vadium. And Im sorry I have been working so slowly.

Hehe... my hard drive has been named (at various points) Macintosh HD, Phoenix, Phoenix 2, (in rapid succession) Phoenix 3-7, Phoenix X. Phoenix X is, iirc, a new drive.

I was wondering what people use to make their own Adiumy's? I have been using GIMP and failing miserably.... :(

Photoshop my friend. Photoshop CS works best. Having a tablet helps too.

I know, most of us making icons are designers and have the software already.

Sorry it has been so long since I have gotten work done. It's a busy week for me and have been spending hours and hours in Illustrator, and frankly my arm is cramping up (I know it's just a cramp). Anyways I rely don't feel like drawing right now. But this weekend I should release a new one. I can't quite keep Lysistrata's time schedule, but I do what I can.

I'm sure I've put some unreasonable time frames on all the other icon creators. If anyone is feeling pressured to keep up with me, please remember that this is, in a sense, my job. I sit in front of a computer for 8+ hours staring at Photoshop graphics constantly. I work in television news so I'm dealing with the bad stuff in the world all day long. These icons have become my stress reliever. I crave looking at ducks in silly-looking costumes....Okay, now I sound insane. :mrgreen:

Anyways, my point was that I think it's natural to get tired of doing graphics, Wunderwood. Lord knows I do. I'm sure we all get excited to see new dock icons regardless of who created them and when.

And no one should expect you to be as obsessed as I am.

If I wanted to try my hand at making one.. would it be alright to use a previously made one as a starting point?

Or is there a "generic" duck to work off of?

Only 8+ hours? :lol: My average is becoming 16+... I'm thinking it might be unhealthy (or at least actually insane) :roll:

It's OK to be obsessed with Adium, I think it happens to the best of us (or at least many crazy enough to dive into the code) 8)
Try my software!

#define ADIUMX pimp //by me
#define QUESTION ((2b) || (!2b))
Have you hugged a programmer today?

You could just start off with the duck that comes with Adium or feel free to use any of mine. I don't think anyone else would mind if you used theirs either, but you never know.
