Good ideas budoink. I should start some thumbs soon. When I decide on the icon I'll let you all know. But I'm still deciding so keep the ideas coming.

Yeah I fond it, but it was not obvious. Im glad you told me about it anyways. I'm looking any tips anyone has found, not that I don't already know what I'm doing, but you guys always seem to know things I don't so I though I would ask.

Here is a preview if the icon I think I am going to do. It's only a line drawing and its still not quite right. My idea is a message in a bottle. Feedback?

If I were you, I'd make the bottle a bit smaller and have the message lodged in it a little higher up. It'd also look better if it were uncurled a little more, especially at the top.

I was thinking a cooler colored glass than green, but it will be transparent. The paper will be off-white, almost tan like parchment, but I'm only going to beat it up as much as I need to. I should have writing on their, and I may even hide a duck somewhere.

It looks like a Jedi…

i like the message in the bottle idea. maybe look like an old rum bottle with a weathered message corked inside . . and as far as most bottles are concerned maybe a small part of a beaten lable with a duck on that, or possibly a wax stamp with the adiumy sillioutte in it?

you could have an empty bottle for unconnected and then it fills with messages when you receive them, but then would an empty bottle really do the job?

adium could be the logo on the bottle, sticker or maybe just glass pattern

This is why I put my ideas up, you guys have the best ideas to go with them. What kind of rum bottle? Send me some images of what exactly your talking about (from a google search or something). My e-mail is wunderwood(at)mac(dot)com. I like the ideas for where to put the duck. I don't want to loose adiums duck roots.

ill get right on that, ill find u a few sweet bottles, or my father owns and electrical contracting company and we find old bottles in walls all the time believe it or not, i could take a few picks on a white backdrop of some of the better suited ones for this purpose?

i was also thinking that when u are offline maybe just an icon of an empty sea scape, and when online then the bottle could float up with the message inside. as far as movment for a message goes you could have it sea saw or tip back and forth maybe twice when messages are sent and stuff as to make it appear as it is floating towards its destination.

either way i will email u some good pics i think i have something perfect in mind.
