Well it makes sense. You're not making many, Lysistrata isn't making many, Psiona is retired…

In other words, all the big time artists are taking a break (for exams? school? jobs?)

i got a really good idea for an adiumy thats easy to make for those who are good at it. what about taking the original rainbow colors of original mac logo and just putting them onto the adium duck. i dont know if its been done yet but it would look wkd.

I have been taking a break for many reasons. The main one being I just don't have the time or energy. Right now I work a full-time job as well as a part-time job with still barely enough to pay the bills.

I just had to stop and rewrite everything I'd just written 'cause I realized that I was starting to sound snippy. I must be just stressed. There's another reason I've backed off for so long. It was turning into a job. I was getting requests from people who would turn around and get rude with me if I didn't finish fast enough. I would get harassed by people who just had to have their "Indonesian-Chicago Falcons-gold miner-janitor-superhero Adiumy". (No, that's not a real request

) And not everyone was like that. In fact, most of you were (and are) great.

It just got to be a overwhelming. Now, part of that is my fault, I know, for getting the first ones done so quickly. But those were done out of love of my craft and a really great program.

And part of me is very hesitant to take requests again because I'm afraid that some of you will start taking advantage of that. I really want everyone to understand that these icons can take a lot of time to create. No one who contributes to Adium gets any monetary compensation, not even the devs. We all do this out of love and loyalty.

BTW, hounding the few of us who do make them won't get yours done any faster.

In fact, more than likely the exact opposite will happen. :twisted:

And, you know what? If you're that desperate for *insert Icon here*, why not try making it yourself? You never know what might happen.

I'm sorry to sound so pissy. It's been a rough few months for me. I just had to cancel my internet access at home 'cause I couldn't afford it 'cause my ex-roommate was a deadbeat and caused me to lose a lot of money. You guys are fantastic, really. I miss you guys and wish I could get back to what I once called my stress-reliever. It's just the few who've soured the experience for me that I need to get over.

After 377 posts, this thread had started to become misguided again. So this is me putting us back in the right direction.

This is place to discuss ideas for dock icons, and particularly adiumy dock icons. Please post things that you think would be cool and lots of people would like.

Don't request avatars, or things that only you or a small groups of people would like. This includes everything from a duck that looks like you, to a sports team (the are just too many teams). Requests like the film maker adiumy that someone keeps asking for are ok. If someone likes your idea than they will do it. The avatar logistics can be discussed once an icon is being worked on.

In short: don't be selfish. We want to make icons that the entire community of adium users can enjoy. No more making icons for a particular person.

You know after those fantastic 4 icons it looks like we have a new artist amongst us.

i quotes myself because not onl did i not want to re write it but i think it would be a great idea for an adiumy. my reason being since adium is a mac only program i think the duck showing the original apple rainbow colors would show mac pride. its not a selfish thing i just thought the idea of it was cool and it would look cool .
