Online contacts appear offline

This is going to sound strange but I it appears that a few of my contacts(for aim), are offline, but when I go to view->offline contacts they show up...but they are online. Has anyone else experienced this and know how to fix it?? Thanks

I know I know, its an obvious question, but sometimes the answers are obvious:

Are they blocked?

Do they have you blocked?

No they are not blocked. And they don't have me blocked becuase I can still talk to them, if you need I can take a screen shot to futher help.
