This is hands down the best IM app available. I can't believe it's taken me so long to discover it. Shame on me

There is only one feature missing. I know it's been discussed a million times before but...webcam support....

It's the ONLY thing that's missing. I just wanted to be one more person that says it. Good job otherwise.

Long story short... Video support is not up to Adium, it's up to the protocols which Adium takes advantage of.

Just curiosity, if you knew we knew about it, why did you make a thread about it?

Because at the time I was unaware of the technical restrictions. The user above was helpful in linking me to a useful explanation. I thought it was more about a lack of wanting.

In any case, I think it's always good to show support not only for the full application but also for features which perhaps are missing for one reason or another. (As was explained in the initial post)

*edit*, perhaps that was somewhat mean, maybe I read more into it than I should have done.

I probably would have read it and refrained from posting. I would have posted in the sticky I think.

I think most new users like myself think that all efforts should be put into webcam support. Obviously I now know it's not for a want of trying, more that technically it's impossible.

I guess people need somewhere to post and vent their anger that such a good app doesn't support the new and (somewhat) upcoming feature that people now use.

Then again, I'm probably last in line to stumble across Adium so perhaps a sticky for one person would be nonsensical
