went idle, became active

Is there anyway to turn off the "so and so went idle" and "became active" messages that appear in chat windows?

This is up to the message style to decide. You can either find a different one or edit the one you like

No sorry, I'm not experienced in that area. Hopefully someone else can tell you. You might want to say which message style your talking about.

edit: Here's a tutorial on how to write message styles http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/CreatingMessageStyles. I haven't looked through it but it might talk about what you need.
