Display away message in MSN account name

Post by felixfi »

MSN does not support Away message, still is it possible to automatically display by my name, the away message... Like the script which puts the itunes song I play in place of a %_nowplaying in my account name.

Thanks

Yes. Put %_statusMessage - you can see this and other available triggers in Edit->Insert Script.

Sorry for necro posting, but this is a problem I have for a long time. I can´t use any status messages. It displays that I´m online or away but I can´t use any text. iTunes now playing doesn´t work (but it dose if I use it as screen name) and anything other neither works.

I´m using 1.0b24.
It would be cool If you could solve my problem :)

Adium does not (yet) support the MSN "Personal Message" functionality, which I believe is what you're wanting. The workaround, as described above, is to include the %_statusMessage keyword in your Display Name so that your status is communicated there. That'll interact fine with the iTunes Status, as well.

Is it planed for any future release, or is it a matter of libgiam?

These aren't exclusive :)

It is something that libgaim needs to support, and it's something which a future version of libgaim -- and then Adium -- most likely will.
