What version of Adium are you using? Have you upgraded to the latest (official) release?

Someone else has reported this crash to me; we have not been able to determine a source. Limewire and a couple other programs were also crashing oddly.
It didn't crash on a new user account; I think it didn't with fully fresh preferences, though I'm not sure. Let us know at what step along
http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/TroubleshootingTips it is fixed, please.

It started working fine on a fresh account on my computer aka step 4. So I guess it has something to do with my individual settings on my compy, I'm not sure where to go from here though,

Hm. In step 3, did you get both the Adium 2.0 and the com.adiumX.adiumX.plist file out of the way simultaneously? And it still crashed?

What if you rename your entire ~/Library/Preferences folder to Preferences-old and then launch Adium?
