The easiest way to learn is by looking at / editing someone elses. In Finder go to Home/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0/Sounds and choose a sound set. Right click (control click) on the sound set and choose "Show Package Contents".

basically what a sound set is, is a group of sound files with a .plist file telling Adium what they are.

If you want any more help feel free to ask here :)

Rename the folder to be YourName.adiumSoundset (or whatever the extension is). The Finder will prompt you and once you agree, bam!
Try my software!

#define ADIUMX pimp //by me
#define QUESTION ((2b) || (!2b))
Have you hugged a programmer today?
