there's a new library able to encode the logitech codec (MSN Webcam) so it could be used for Webcam on Adium .. here is the link http://www.jblinux.net/libmimdec/ (it's Multi OS , it only has to be programmed in the Mac language

The devs started Webcam support already, but this might be easier…

But I'm not a dev so how would I know?

Totally different. Getting from the webcam to Adium isn't handled by this code at all. This handles decoding (and encoding, possibly) MSN video streams.

And just so as to NOT get anyone's hopes up... we haven't really implemented webcam support at ALL yet. There's nothing working in source, and nobody is actively working on it. Sorry.

and IF the devs were to start working on it, i hope they would put up a poll where we could vote on what gets webcam first, unless it'll just work with them all. i personally don't have MSN, soif they made it work with only MSN, it'd be useless to me. i'd say a poll should be done on which should get it first...IF they even make it.

What makes you think they have a choice? This library only works with MSN, so if they use it, guess what gets support first... (and that's a big if, anyway)

I doubt we'd use that library anyhow. No reason to use a library that ONLY works on one protocol when gaim-vv (however slowly they may be progressing) will presumably work on at least the "big three." We should wait and use their work when it's done, instead of doing a halfway job now.

AFAIK the dev has some send-support working right now.

Pointing out what others have done is just about useless.

Hi,

i've searched the forum, but I couldn't find the reason why
Gaim-vv isn't suitable for Adium.
Can someone explain?

Thanks!

Ps Love Adium keep up the good work, can't wait for 0.8!
