GAIM Connection Problem. Not Using Beta.

Hey,

I bought my first mac last thursday, i read from another forum to download adium for aim... Once installed i got that problem with connecting that everyone was seeming to get... Connect Disconnect Connect Disconnect...

So i used iChat,

Later that day i flew home to New York ( live in san diego ) and I tried adium on that connection there and it worked flawlessy... And a hell of a lot better then ichat or aim!

Now, I am back in San Diego, and i'm getting the Connect Disconnect GAIM error and account suspended...

However, iChat and straight AIM Client work fine...

I searched and read an entire 9 page thread about the subject on here... The last page stated that it was fixed for the beta....

I don't even know how to get the beta...

But i'm using the official release and it's still not working only for Adium, so to my knowledge that would mean it is not a port issue?

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the beta version of adium does have improved file transfer. Before upgrading, try reading and following the steps outlined here.

If you still continue to have problems, you can download the beta version of Adium here if you are comfortable using pre-release software.

Check the View Menu.

this menu has a lot of options about that, including configuring your sort to put them all at the bottom, or hiding them completely.

View -> Show Offline Contacts to hide them or View -> Show Offline Group
