what about something like a "master skin" where you could select one of every appearance extras, as contactlist-style, color-style, emoticon-packs, status-icons, message-style etc. or at least all the contact-list options.

so one could create a skin called "iChat" that would set everything to look like iChat.

this style should then be selectable in the appearance-menu

my motivation is, that i have a contactlist-style with rather big icons. and if many poeple are online it doesn't fit on the screen no more. so i want to go to a style with smaller icons. but if i change only that, the new, smaller style doesn't fit with the group bubbles, it just doesn't look good and the status icons are too big too.

best thing would be if adium could detect when the contact-list doesn't fit the screen an switch then the skin. but thats a bit too much to code i think

I've kicked around the idea of a 'master' theme for a couple years now (since adding contact list styles) but it's more of a backburner idea right now. So it's possible, just not yet

Yeah, I think it would be cool if Adium could have "themes" that save the service icons, status icons, emoticons, dock icons, color theme, and list layout. So I could have an "iChat" theme that would have all of the appropriately configured iChat stuff, but then maybe I want to switch to a black-themed Adium the next week, I could just create a "black theme" instead of having to change every appearance feature.

Wellm that answered a question for me. I was looking for theme packs like trilian, and now I know my search is in vain
