No access to AIM or ICQ

I recently replaced my cable modem, and now, whenever I try to sign in to AIM or ICQ, It asks me for my password. I enter it, and I'm sure it's right, but I can not get into either account.
I am not sure that this is related to the modem thing, but it never happened before.
Google talk and Yahoo work just fine.

I had this come up with MSN once. I deleted the account in preferences and re-created it and the problem stopped.
I'm not sure that this is an official solution, or even a solution at all (quite possibly just dumb luck that it worked) - but hey, it might be worth a try?
Deleting account

I deleted the AIM account. The I reentered it. Then I selected sign in automatically. I pressed okay and went back to the accounts screen. I went from connecting to online to offline many times. Online was the shortest of the three stages.

What version of adium are you using? .89.1?
I remember having this problem with AIM at some point during the beta, but its sense been resolved. Make sure you're using the most recent stable release of adium or the most recent beta, depending on which you're running already.
If you already are, then say that too.. I'm not sure what could be causing that...

I also have this problem.
Adium ver 0.89.1
MacOS 10.4.8
the same seems to occur
here and
here.
in my case I installed an new Netgear wireless router.
with my old Linksys wireless router I had no problems.
any ideas?!
I'm not so into set up any router configurations.
perhaps you have any hints...
EDIT:
what I tried so far:
- reinstall Adium
- delete and reload account information
- change library folder and create an new by restart Adium
problem only with ICQ... MSN works fine!

Thats interesting. You think that the router may be at fault? I use a linksys wireless router at home and have no problems, but I guess its possible that a change in routers would interfere with Adium's connectivity.
Perhaps forwarding the ports that AIM and ICQ use, if only I knew which those were...

I have the most up to date stable version of Adium. I use a netgear wireless router. It was there before I had this problem. Thoe only thing that changed is that my modem died and I had to get a new one.
I also have this problem with iChat. I could try fire. I think I still have that.

Fire has the same problem. I'm assuming that there is no real problem with Adium, per se, it's more something else. Still, I don't know where else to go for help, other than the Apple Cares number.
The problem might be due to trying again to quickly, though: Adium may be setting the others up for failure.

So have you tried removing the router from the situation?

it works.
I tried two different things so I can and will not recover (as long it's stable) what exactly makes the difference.
1st: I'm using Adium X 1.0 Beta 3
2nd: in router settings trigger (not forward) the TCP port 5190 in combination with the IP of your MAC (in my case 192.168.1.4. check system settings for the number)
it's running since 3 hours without any problems...

Add a big "Me Too" into the mix.
iChat and Adium both fall over dead. I'm on an IntelMac running 10.4.8. This happend to me Sunday and has continued solid through today.
So, I'm getting the feeling that AIM is playing netcop again... however I didn't see anything posted over on GAIM.

Yup... AOL is playing netcop again.
Change your protocol to 443... then it works.
