random(ish) crashes

ok...im not very good at explaining this kinda stuff (pretty good with computers but eh, im pretty specialized)...so...
when i JUST open adium, which btw is the newest beta (so i guess this is a beta report), it tends to crash like 2 to 5 times (every time i start it it crashes, until it finnally works
).
the next weird thing is when i looked to find the log...it wasnt there...then i did it again and got a track on it quickly (those halo reflexes DO come in handy lol
) so basically it ends up in the trash 
if you want a screenshot, theres like 50 copies of the log in my trash lol...
ive also tried holding shift, sometimes it works sometimes not...(help does disable extensions, right?)
any help?
