Really bad experience with Adium

I upgraded just today to a 20" iMac and Adium one of the first things i download and install. NOT happy at all. The dammn thing has crashed over 10 times in the first few hours after I have reinstalled twice. I got this error the last time it happened.

Anyone else had similar experience and can someone PLEASE help me. Or suggest another IM client lol

You're not going to find an IM client as slick as Adium. That said, it would really help if you told us more about what happened - what error you got, what version of Adium you're running, etc.

I don't believe that the developers designed the application to crash :) so it's probably something else that's up. Have any other applications crashed? Have you tried moving the ~/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0 folder out of the Application Support folder (say, to your desktop) and relaunching?

p.s. reinstalling doesn't usually help; it's usually a preference file or something that's getting in the way.

Hey, thanks for getting back to me :). I've tried placing it on my desktop and that still hasn't worked. It seems to be my MSN account causing the problem, I logged into googletalk and that was fine and didn't crash. But after I logged into MSN it crashed shortly after. I don't get a reason for the error it just tells me it has unexpectedly crashed.

MSN has been messing with their servers lately, I've gotten reports of several clients crashing. It *may* work better in the 1.0 betas (beta.adiumx.com); certainly hasn't been crashing for me, but I don't use MSN much.
