Columns in Condensed Layout

I've looked in the included Help file, FAQ, and forums but I've not seen mention of this. If this feature already exists or has already been mentioned I do apologize. I prefer the Condensed (3 pane) layout, but the Headlines column is convoluted with Headline, Time, Folder, Author, Summary etc… all in two lines in that single column. If possible I would prefer that these items have their own separate columns as they do in the Report (default Apple Mail-like) layout.

Thank you for your time and effort, cocoa|forge software is the best in the OS X world.

T.K.

That would make the columns in condensed view very narrow, no?

I use condensed view most of the time and I just don't see how that would work. I like to leave the article column wide enough to easily read the article.

I'm using a 20" Apple display and people with smaller displays would like it even less I think.

It worked well for me using That Other news reader on my 20" iMac, although I am using a 23" display now. I think if you only show the columns you need, and adjust the width of the panes & columns it would be ok on the average size display. These days I would guess 20" is about the average size.

Only if you ignore all the people on MacBooks or PowerBooks which is what I have the 20" display connected to.

If you're using a notebook with a 13" or 15" display, you have to make a lot of compromises over a desktop. I don't know if Condensed even in it's current form would be practical on a notebook.

I think that depends entirely on your settings. I use Condensed on a 15" MacBook Pro with an 11pt font, and it is quite usable (a lot better than Report, IMHO).

I would really like to see the date column added as a header option in Condensed.
