Version: 3.0b 2820

Issue: When I use the "Unread Articles" view and am reading an article, an automatic refresh will actually remove the article I am currently reading from the view. I am assuming this happens because the document I am reading is no longer "Unread" but it is an annoyance as I may not be done reading the article and I now have to go search for it in another view. A better approach would be to keep the currently selected article in the "unread" view until I select another article.

Yep, just upgraded to the 3.0 beta and that was the first thing I noticed. Was in the middle of reading an article in the preview pane while feeds refreshed in the background, and when the refresh finished, the article I was in the middle of suddenly disappeared. Definitely a change from the previous behavior, and not a good one.

The same thing just happened to me... I changed the refresh setting to every 15 minutes. That should solve the problem until the bug is squashed!

I understand the problem, but I don't see where is the change from the previous behavior. Which version are you referring to ?

Under all previous 2.x versions I've used, if you're viewing Unread Articles and have one selected, when Vienna does a refresh in the background and then updates the list of articles, that selected article remains in the list even though it's "read".

Under 3.0, I'll be in the middle of reading one of these feed entries when the refresh finishes, and the entry just disappears.

I've reverted to 2.6 specifically because of this issue (well, this and the fact that 3.0 couldn't handle authenticated feeds)...I can't handle having the article I'm in the middle of reading suddenly disappearing on me.

3.0b.2821 is out. GIve it a try !

Working great so far! Items currently being read are now remaining in the unread list upon refresh, and authenticated feeds seem to be working properly for me now.
