Sorry to say this but the new version don't works behind a proxy the last one that works to me is vienna 2601 in the same place and with the same proxy, the new wants to connect to port tcp 80 but it's impossible to get that. I hope that this can be useful

I see the same issue, feed update fine on start-up, but do not update when the application is running, even when I explicitly ask for this in the menu.
I could not find any error messages in log/console.

Can another other replicate the issue of feeds through a proxy only updating upon initial load, and not on a forced refresh?
I'll take a look at the areas of code if so.

I'm not 100% sure this is related to $subj but seems pretty similar: running 3.0.0 Beta 18 :8c42af7: I experienced a problem after connecting through a hotel free-wifi proxy, where I seemed able to update feeds while connected through that proxy, but I found that most (not quite all) of my feed addresses have been updated to proxied versions. So, having left that particular hotel, I find that most of my feeds are broken and the addresses must be fixed manually.
e.g. Neil Gaiman's blog feed became:
http://www.marriott.com/einterface/hsia ... ournal.php
rather than
http://www.neilgaiman.com/extras/feed_journal.php
It's perhaps a neat trick to cache the proxy URL for future use for some period of time, but a nasty surprise that it seems I need to manually fix all of my subscribed feed addresses.
In case it's useful: for whatever reason, a few feeds, such as Pat Rothfuss's blog (
http://feeds2.feedburner.com/PatrickRothfuss%20) did not suffer such a change.
Is this something other users have seen? Or alternatively, did I do something stupid to bring this on myself?

I am also experiencing the same problem as footballflow.
e.g.
http://login.uq.edu.au/redirect/?str=SC ... CO¶ms=
instead of
http://arxiv.org/rss/astro-ph.CO
Must I manually fix all of my feed URLs?

This sounds like a hotel proxy server returned a HTTP 301 Moved Permanently code, when it should have respected that it wasn't knowledgeable of a permanent change and used an HTTP 302 or 307 Moved Temporarily instead.

I had this same problem (version 3.0.0 Beta 18) this week (I know, my version is old). All of my feed URLs were replaced by redirect URLs from a wireless network at an airport. It is hopeless to try to get the airport to fix their wireless system, so Vienna needs to be robust enough to handle this situation.
1. Has this problem been fixed in subsequent versions of Vienna? If so, I'll upgrade. I usually follow the dictum of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", hence my outdated version.
2. What is an easy way to get my feeds back? I have a Time Machine backup of my Mac from before this problem happened.

I guess it must be a problem with some browser sniffing technique or some Javascript in the authentication dialog. I remember encountering similar problems with iOS apps.
For these situations, my workaround is to try to access the internet with Appleās Safari before using other apps. Generally, once the initial setup is OK (credentials for your hotel room are accepted), all apps can benefit from the connexion.
