Vienna 3b12 - weird display of article listing for macworld

Post by sandstrom »

In both Vertical and horizontal view, the article listings for the Macworld feed displays oddly. The ‘author’ field drops one line. In vertical view, this results in a 3-line entry. This worked fine in 3b11. See attached screenshot.

I think this is because the xml has a line break inside the author entry (which would make the feed invalid, if I'm not wrong). Like this:

Code: Select all

<author>
        The Macalope</author>
MW-feed
MW-feed

I'll take a look at this - a similar bug was fixed in titles which included line feed / carriage return characters

Yes, the problem is related to the linefeed.
In Beta 11, the author name was simply hidden…
Beta 12 attempts to display the author name, but the linefeed makes it look weird…

If you don't mind, I will make a fix for new articles only ; I'll let older articles with the problem.
I contribute to Vienna RSS as a developer.
Please, don't forget those tips for writing a good bug report
