Show which feeds are inactive

Postby dkbarto » Sun Jul 21, 2013 4:52 pm

Net News Wire has a cool feature that any feed which hasn't had anything show up on it in some large-ish period of time is marked as 'inactive'. That way you can keep the number of things you are watching (and thus polling for updates) down to those that are actually posting new data.

It may also have some way of determining that the back end is no longer responding to requests, I'm not sure of the actual mechanism that it works on.

In either case, it would be a cool feature to pick up from NNW.

Since there is a NNW request, I'd like to kindly suggest another. (Even though NNW is a massive piece of ad-filled bloat).

I like being able to track the time due until the next refresh. It's not a critical component, by any means, but it is nice to know.

And, btw, dkbarto's suggestion is a great one. I'd love to see that.
