Previously read posts update as new

When my feeds refresh, I often see previously read posts get returned to unread status even though they have not been updated. It is tedious to have to repeatedly mark them as read.
Currently using OS 10.8.5 with Vienna 3.0.0 Beta 18 :8c42af7:

Hi,
I have the same thing happening to my version (running on 10.8.5)
I should add that the old posts are accompanied by a green bullet, which I can't seem to find what it means.
Any ideas?

Hi,
These can occur where the RSS server makes non-conformant changes to the date field. Can you provide a specific feed that it occurred on?
