ezproxy : cannot get to work with vienna

Hi there
My institution uses ezproxy to access journal subscription. I can add an ezprozy extension to the url to be able to visualise full text manuscripts in a web browser. However, I cannot add this to rss feed links, as it does not work. Currently, I am not aware of a way to make Vienna use ezproxy so that I read the full text manuscripts in its interface (without going to a separate browser).
I've done several searches and I have made no progress. Does anyone know if this is at all possible?
Many thanks.

As far as I understand, getting an RSS feed will only be possible with certain configurations of ezproxy servers :
this directive must be set.
Opening an article in a Vienna’s webbrowser tab would require a javascript trick similar to this :

As it is just a small javascript hack, it should be easy to build an ad hoc plugin.

Can you step through how this works? I recall ezproxy in some guise at my university, and it essentially did MITM re-writing of URL links in webpages (in Firefox, Chrome etc).
When you have a link in an RSS article, is it the case that the re-writing does not happen? What happens if you click on the headline to open the article in Vienna's built in web browser -- are URL links re-written then?

Thanks for inspiration - I got it to work!
Here's what i was doing :
To make it work, I needed to add .ezproxy...ac.uk to a url in my browser. I have this bookmarked as
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov.ezproxy...ac.uk/pubmed
-- redirects to log in window
-- stays active until I re-login to computer
I do not know how to tell vienna to add that to a url. And I don't think it knows how to do it by default (just like safari doesn't).
- does not do url rewriting (in own browser of when opening in safari)
- if I add .ezproxy....ac.uk to the vienna built in url, it redirects me to log in, and then I can access full text
- I have to re-add this url extension every time I click on a new title!
Here's what I'm doing now - AND IT WORKS!
I have found a university page that provides an Automatic Proxy Configuration URL, which automatically gives access to full text through browsers - I guess the ezproxy work happens behind the scenes
Once I modified my network settings to use that, this also updates in the Vienna built in browser! Brilliant.
It has taken me 6 months to figure this - thank you for triggering new ideas!

No worries. These systems are usually quite finicky, but work in the end.
