Vienna 3.5.7 is our current recommendation

Postby barijaona » Sat Jul 08, 2017 5:50 am

[Updated on September 8th, 2020]
Vienna 3.5.7 is out.

It is highly recommended to use this version, especially if you are syncing with an OpenReader server.
Version notes : https://www.vienna-rss.com/sparkle-file ... 3.5.7.html and https://www.vienna-rss.com/sparkle-file ... 3.5.6.html

Latest "stable" release can always be found at https://github.com/ViennaRSS/vienna-rss/releases/latest

So far she’s holding fine here. I haven’t experienced those little issues that annoyed me with the previous release.
(3.1.11 has been running for about 24 hours)

PS - looking forward to enjoy the work I’ve seen happening on Github for Vienna.next. Seriously.

If you encountered a problem with Vienna 3.2.1, we suggest we redownload it. A new build has been published after detection of a problem in my Xcode files.

If Vienna 3.5.6 crashes on startup, when 3.5.5 does not, this fix worked for me.

In Terminal:

Code: Select all

echo 'pragma main.user_version=21;' | sqlite3 ~/'Library/Application Support/Vienna/messages.db'

These crashes (or sometimes hangs) have happened on every Vienna update since 2.0.9. They may have to do with the size of my messages.db file (250k+ messages, 615MB). Incrementing main.user_version fixed the crash problem every time.
