Unread icon not showing

I've changed iMacs and updated to Catalina, and since then Vienna (Version 3.5.5) is no longer showing the red "unread count" in the dock.
"Show the unread count on the application icon" is ticked in the preferences and I've tried restarting the computer but to no avail.
Can anyone help?

I posted this three months ago but there have been no replies.

Check System Preferences > Notifications, scroll down the list to find Vienna. There is a checkbox entry: “Badge App Icon”, make user it is checked.
