Mac OS 12 latest, Intel.
Start Vienna from scratch, after having removed all application related data (preference file, application support folder, caches).
the main window opens in “horizontal layout” with the article list pane opened from top to bottom. Clicking an article does not show its content - hidden below the fold. Once one finds the resize widget and reduce the height of the article list pane, then the selected article is visible.
Toggle to “vertical layout”. Try changing the Style… oops all are greyed out… (screenshot attached). Same applies for the Columns, Sort by, Filter by entries under the View menu.
Hmm, Maybe I will have more luck in “horizontal layout”. Toggle back. Strange, it appears I now I have **two** tabs (screenshot available). And no apparant way to close one. Anyway, in this view, the above mentioned configuration options are fully enabled.
Ok, now back to “vertical layout”… Oops, again all disabled.
Restarting the application? The zombie tab disappears, but all configuration options are still a no-go in “vertical layout”.
Open up Preferences > Advanced, and toggle the “Preview new browser” option to on. Restart Vienna, and ooh… magic… all those configuration options in the View Menu are suddenly available (enabled). The zombie tab mentioned above has disappeared as well.
There are possibly more issues that I haven’t tested

Back to my good old profile after having performed the one test I wanted (verifying that indeed the one feed I had problems with was indeed busted and broken).
3.8.(1) - odd first run experience
Re: 3.8.(1) - odd first run experience
Vienna 3.8.2 & 3.8.3 have improved the situation a lot, all those menu items are now fully accessible (not greyed out or disabled), independently of the choice – vertical / horizontal layout or new / old browser. I haven’t yet had an opportunity to test the in initial set-up process.
