Trying to play a avi file I get "Operation could not be completed. (OSStatus error 784.)" and nothing in quicktime.

Is this a perian problem or is it a me problem?(!)

Can you post the avi? Sounds like an audio import problem, they usually give error codes that don't actually exist for some reason.

They are all absolutely massive sadly. (e.g. 500Mb to 3Gb) Im getting problems watching all my videos exported from Adobe Premiere Elements (on windows) to avi. Some are error 534 some are 784. All are .avi..

Then cut a small one together and post it. Simply restating the issue is of no help whatsoever.

Sorry about that - the main problem is consent was required.. I also no longer have access to the windows machine with adobe premiere..

This is the same as http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=19055 and thus, fixed for next release.

Just for the record I managed to fix this by removing DivX - should have read the first line on the support page in the first place.. d'oh!
