It seems I can't play DivX videos out of Quicktime 7.6.2 with Perian. In researching, I also find that DivX Player for OS 10.4 PPC Mac will not play the newer DivX videos (nor will 10.5 Leopard PPC), only the very old DivX ones. The DivX Player maker tells me they changed the platform for the format a little while back, a year or more ago, and they have not made the codec for PPC Mac.
Is it possible for Perian to add in a PPC DivX codec so all we using PPC Mac can play the DivX formatted videos? Thanks.

If you're having issues, remove the the divx codec as it's documented as being very buggy and causes numerous problems, as stated here: http://www.perian.org/#supporthttp://www.perian.org wrote:File formats: AVI, DIVX, FLV, MKV, GVI, VP6, and VFW
Video types: MS-MPEG4 v1 & v2, DivX,....

Yes, that seems to have done it! I took them out. I went to a DivX video online. That one would play, but would not buffer, making it so it actually would not play (and I feared I still had an issue). But at another site, I did get a DivX video to play fine -- it clearly said on the page it was DivX and that the DivX codec would be needed for it. I did see in Activity Window that it was marked as a .avi. But my understanding is that DivX is a type of .avi, so I guess this confirms it.
Gee, I've been fighting this for more than a year! Even the DivX makers didn't seem to know this. I thought all this time that Perian just didn't have the codec for PPC Mac since the DivX makers did not.
Thanks.
