love perian, been using it mostly successfully for years. these days my main use is through front row (snow leopard, first revision macbook). very occasionally i stumble on a video file where the sound doesn't work, i generally just play it through vlc instead, but this time i thought i'd come looking for answers

here's a 23meg sample of the file in question, as it already exists online - i hope that's acceptable, tell me if not and i'll slice a sample from the main file myself.

as mentioned it's ac3 audio (most files with ac3 sound i encounter work fine), details according to vlc are:
channels: 3F2R/LFE
sample rate: 48000 Hz
bitrate: 448 kb/s
sound works in vlc, but not in perian via frontrow/quicktime/the spacebar preview thingy in finder.
thanks for any help!
