Perian unassoicated with MKV files

Hello

I've noticed that MKV files newly downloaded or moved from their current location, lose their association with Perian (or vice versa).

These affected files return a kMDItemContentType = "dyn.ah62d4rv4ge804450" instead of "org.perian.matroska".

They still play fine in VLC, but spotlight and other apps no longer recognize them as kind:movie since the "public.movie" ItemKind is no longer being applied.

I've tried unisntalling and reinstalling Perian to no avail. Any ideas?
