FlowChat would be nice. It doens't work with IRC://. I asked support but no answer yet. Maybe anyone other knows!

While this would likely only be useful for API based notifications, perhaps if/when you add custom URL support, you could support substitutions in your URLs...
e.g.
application -> IRC connections
message -> 'asdf@irc.freenode.net'
URL -> 'irc://asdf@irc.freenode.net'

or

application -> URL Forward
message -> 'google.com'
URL -> 'http://google.com'

or

application -> Mac Counterpart
message -> 'asdftest'
URL -> 'customprotocol://asdftest'

This could be done with codes such as %m for 'message' as found in date fields or draggable sections (as found in Hazel for Mac for example...).
Do you think this is possible and could one day be added? It would be a massive advantage and would allow a whole range of new uses (as well as taking some of the load away from yourselves)...
I hope this is possible and that you get a chance to implement it in the near future...

for FlowChat would be... ZNC sends me highlight when I'm not connected and I can start FlowChat. FlowChat autoconnects to ZNC. Perfekt ;-)

You should probably try and support as many Twitter clients as possible, as everyone has their preference. I'm currently using TwitterFon and don't have much care/need/want to switch.
(And of course, supporting TwitterFon in redirections may mean you need to support TwitterFon AND TwitterFon Pro separately. Not 100% sure.)

Twitterfon is already in the redirect list.

Looks like TwitterFon changed its name to Echofon. Might make sense to update the list.

Updated. Added Birdfeed mention/timeline differentiation (direct message argument appears to need the account name, which isn't possible atm with Prowl), added RSS generic, renamed Twitterfon to Echofon.

Is it possible to redirect to nothing at all? Sometimes I don't necessarily need to open an app because of an alert, but I don't want to have to close Prowl when I receive it, either.

Anyone thought of NetNewsWire for RSS stuff? They've submitted a version 2 with Google Reader sync to match their corresponding new Mac app...

Also, I use Transmission, and it would be really cool if it could auto redirect to the webUI I have setup to access my torrent downloads on my iPhone!

Any thoughts?

In my defense, it wasn't in the first post.
In my Devil's Advocate, I didn't bother to look through the list in Prowl itself D=.

Regardless, thank you. Ditto for the all too important App Name change (TwitterFon -> EchoFon) :P.

As an aside, am I missing something, or are we missing the ability to redirect to a plain 'ole URL?

I would love it if Friendz would launch on the iphone everytime I get a message through the friendz client for mac.

For those who haven't used it, Friendz is a great app for checking if your xbox live friends are online as well as sending and recieving messages from them. And the mac client already uses growl for notifications!

Good Reader is url launchable by putting a g before the http:// in mobile safari. Would ghttp:// work as its url in prowl?

Here's the website http://www.goodiware.com/gr-man-howto.html#ghttp

and here's an excerpt from the user manual:
How do I save a file from Safari to GoodReader?
If you browse the Web with Safari, and open a file that is interesting to you, there is a way of saving this file into GoodReader's internal local storage, so you will be able to view this file with GoodReader without loading it from the Internet every time (like it happens in Safari).

To save a file from Safari to GoodReader:

open the file of interest in Safari
tap Safari's address bar (the keyboard will appear)
go to the very beginning of the file's URL address, where the http:// or https:// part is
add a single letter g in front of the address, so you'll have ghttp:// or ghttps:// instead of http:// or https://
press Go on the keyboard (this will close Safari and start GoodReader)
the file will start to download into GoodReader automatically (check Web Downloads section to find it)
if for some reason adding g doesn't work, try to add gr or giw, so you'll have grhttp://, grhttps://, giwhttp:// or giwhttps://

To go with my friendz request, it has just been updated to include launchable urls

Friendz can respond to two different URLs:
friendz://add?gamertag
As the URL implies, this will tell Friendz to add "gamertag". There is no need to replace spaces with a plus sign.

friendz://message?gamertag
This URL is for sending a message to a gamer. To send to multiple gamers, separate gamertags with a comma (,)

Nothing to it! See examples below:

Another vote for launch no app. Just close Prowl.

Probably gonna be the only one voting for this, but PLEAASEE pleeaasee add it? :)

iNag -- http://idevelop.fullnet.com/iapps/modules/apps/inag.php

No idea if they support a custom url scheme, but I created a thread with some feature requests here:
http://idevelop.fullnet.com/iapps/modul ... 73&forum=7

This would save me and my team countless man hours.

I took a look at iNag's Info.plist, and it doesn't declare a URL scheme, so it's not launchable in its current version (1.0). When they add support for it, Prowl will be able to launch it.

Since I got tired of waiting for a new release of GV Mobile to include a URL scheme, I decided to modify the Info.plist in my GV Mobile.app installation from Cydia. First I added a gvmobile:// scheme, then realized there was no gvmobile:// available to me in the Prowl redirection list.

So, I looked through the list of available ones to find one I doubted I'd be using in the time between now and when Sean releases a new version, decided on Twinkle (I'm Echofon people), and added twinkle to the list of URL schemes in my Info.plist. So now, instead of selecting "Google Voice (website)," I select "Twinkle," and my GV SMS prowls launch GV Mobile.

Any chance you could ask Sean what his URL scheme is GOING to be, so that you can add that, and I can stop using twinkle://? =)

-c.

(p.s. if anyone wants a copy of my Info.plist, let me know in PM, including what URL scheme you want it to use. Happy to help.)

Updated, added both iFile and iSip.
