Username instead of API Key?

It would be fantastic if I could ask users, upon registration on a site, for something as simple as their prowl username, and then set up a system to send alerts to users on forum post replies and things like that.

Having to use an API key tends to be quite a bit harder for web novices to understand, and I'd rather not request something like that from a user.

Are there any plans for something like to be implemented?

I'm probably going to give OAuth a shot at setting up. Just providing a prowl username skips over the whole "able to flood a user with things if you just know their username" prevention step.
