In the growl preferences (found in System Preferences), click the "Check" button and it will check to see if there is a newer version.

new growl

Post by dawghausfrau »

yes m2e. i did that and it indeed said that there was a new version available online and asked me if i would like to download it. if i say yes, will it override all my preferences and settings, causing me to have to reenter them or will it not affect them?

It simply downloads the new version of the software. Installing software doesn't usually cause any alteration to preferences.
Try my software!

thanks, bgannin.

now, do i need to quit growl (it's always running) before i d/l the new version?

also, what will this new version do for me? :) it took me so long to get things working properly with the MailMe notification for my SuperDuper! program that i am afraid to possibly have to go through all of it again (even though you say i won't) and just wonder if i need whatever it is 7.5 offers....
