Hey! Help a poor n00b with some stuffs

At first, in the Application List, it says that Proteus is Growl enabled, but why doesnt it come up in Growl? I've tried to reboot the compy and Proteus and growl, but nothing happend... how do I solve this?

To use Entourage with Growl you have to do something with the appelscripts ... but what... and where? :?

Think thats all for now...

proteus: if you are running 0.6.1 there should be already a growlAppBridge.framwork in /library/framework/ . if you are running 0.7svn you should download that. http://growl.info/files/Growl-0.6-Frameworks.dmg and copy the growl.framework to /library/framework/ and rename it into GrowlAppBridge.framework.
then you should go to the proteus prefs and check the "notify using growl" checkbox in advanced. then everything should work fine.

entourage: regarding the entourage thing i dont directly know. i am just using spamsieve with entourage which provides full growl support :) if you are looking for a small and power full spamfilter and look out for growl support in entourage then check out spamsieve. worth a try.

There is an entourage and an entourage advanced applescript in the scripts directory. You need to set it up with mail rules in entourage.

Thanx! I found the place... but when i put the script there, and Apply the chenges, the scripts dissapere... the box is still ticked, but it says "<None Selected>" and the only script I can choose is the Advanced ... Is this a problem or should it be like that? It hasn't changed anything in the program and it still isn't in Growl.... *feels like a real n00b* :P

Try dragging the scripts directory on the dmg to your desktop, and then pointing to that one.

Tried that, and now it says "An Error Accured: Script Cannot Be executed" or something like that...

CORRECTION: The Script Cannot Be Run : An Error Has Occurred (-192)

Can't use it... Its "dark gray" (un-selectable)...

Are you supposed to make the Rule in a sertain way for this one to work, or shall it just be:

If
Execute: (If All criteria are met)
(all messages)

Then:
(Run AppleScript) (script) Entourage Advanced

???

Weird - try copying the contents of the script into a new empty script, then use that script.

Hi,

That's odd - the script works for me once it is moved to a fresh file.

try downloading this file:
http://diggory.net/grazing/growl/Entour ... vanced.zip

and see if it works better.

p.s. are you using Entourage 2004?

For starters, what is the script supposed to do? :P

It didnt work with that either.
I'm using Entourage X...

The script sends a growl notification when you get a new email.

I don't have entourage X - only 2004 - so can't test with your version.

Maybe the app name needs to be changed in the script?

Maybe... Can I just open the script and change it myself?

I've opened the script, and it says: "tell application "Microsoft Entourage" " and that is the name of my app,
So I dont think I need to change it...
