I just found "Linked Applications Launcher".

http://alphaomega.software.free.fr/link ... ncher.html

It does what I wanted (launch/quit growltunes and tunekeys when itunes launches/quits) but it's shareware. It's free but anoying to use (askes to register).

But being an iTunes plug-in would be good too ;-)

Exactly what form will this plugin take? And what will it do growltunes doesn't do at the moment? (aside from the problem mentioned above)

You will need to be patient and find out when we release Growl .8. Zaudragon, no more posting new things to the forums until we stabalize them more :)

Why not? They deserve it… I thought it would get quieter once I said it; guess now. There isn’t much difference between the plugin and the app, just to tell you, except that it’s a plugin… NO MORE QUESTIONS

For the record, it works quite well with Growl 0.7.6. All I had to do to get it compiling was delete the reference to growl.png, and comment out one line which didn't compile. I built it against the 0.7-branch, it seems to work like a charm.

If it's okay with you, I can upload the build to my homepage and post a link.

The plug-in? It’s not released for a version; we’d rather you didn’t as it is unfinished.

any news on this yet? I'd sure love to have that menubar-less version of GrowlTunes.

Likely this won't ship until Growl 1.2.

Search the forums for GrowlTunes, there is a way to do this now.
