well you could make a script that opens itunes and growltunes together....
… or you could simply be patient while rudy and I write the iTunes plugin for GrowlTunes.

I just found "Linked Applications Launcher".

It does what I wanted (launch/quit growltunes and tunekeys when itunes launches/quits) but it's shareware. It's free but anoying to use (askes to register).
But being an iTunes plug-in would be good too ;-)

You will need to be patient and find out when we release Growl .8. Zaudragon, no more posting new things to the forums until we stabalize them more

Why not? They deserve it… I thought it would get quieter once I said it; guess now. For the record, it works quite well with Growl 0.7.6. All I had to do to get it compiling was delete the reference to growl.png, and comment out one line which didn't compile.
