This might be bigger than a 1.1 change, but I'd love to see speech output as a Sound notification type. This would let me combine a visual notice with spoken output for a given event.

I do this now with SoundForGrowl and find it really useful with hardware notifications (i.e. power cable unplugged).

You're right, it won't be in 1.1, but it's a fine feature request for the future.

Having speech and text/graphic output together would also be great from an accessibility point of view.

I didn't know about the SoundForGrowl program, I'll look into that for now.
