Hi folks.

I run my own web server here at my place. Any way to have Growl tie into Apache to let me know there's been a visit? I can tie into the Terminal, so perhaps that is the route.

Any suggestions useful.

There's a command line Growl Extra called growlnotify that allows you to post notifications. This would be your best bet.

I found it, can't get her to work. Says it installed, but nothing in man (man 1, nor man) will work. Nothing is in the folder /usr/local/bin.

Any ideas?

The individual components should be there if the script fails for some reason.

Those are the instructions I followed. I downloaded the most recent copy, cd to the growlnotify, and installed using /.install.sh which came up with that it couldn't install the man pages, and nothing else has shown up. I did it twice, actually.

Oh, you mean the build. I will look at that later then, give it a whirl.

I have growl notifications sent to me securely over an ssh tunnel from my web server to my laptop wherever I may be. If anyone's interested in knowing how to do this (requires some *nix skills), I can compile and post the details.

Hi there. I would love to see that. I have my server to my right, so I'm over a LAN, so don't need the tunnelling. I wanted to be notified of visitors to a page, and be able to customize the message.
