Growl Malfunctioning

Hey,

New to this list, and am having some growl issues, much to my dismay.

Basically, it just stopped popping up notifications for any of my installed apps, seemingly out of the blue.

I'm getting apps registered ok, eg:

Code: Select all

2007-08-27 15:29:12.225 GrowlHelperApp[259] 2007-08-27 15:29:12 -0700 Adium registered

Code: Select all

2007-08-27 15:42:49.012 Cyberduck[708] Registering DDBouncerVictimDO Cyberduck
2007-08-27 15:42:49.012 Cyberduck[708] Sending BouncerDOAvailable
2007-08-27 15:42:50.563 GrowlHelperApp[259] 2007-08-27 15:42:50 -0700 Cyberduck registered

and I'm able to see the preview notification from within System Prefs.

I've tried uninstalling Growl, and then reinstalling it and I have the same problem. I'm wondering if it's some kind of conflict with something else I'm running.

Any help would be really appreciated. I love my Growl.

thanks a lot!

- Will

same problem, i was actually looking to fix it before as well and it sort of faded from my mind. Ive tried tweaking which notifications to use and preview it just fine, but one day it just stopped working. A reinstall didnt fix it either, any ideas?

Check to make sure you don't have silent mode turned on. It would be in general prefs.

hrm - my notifications are turned on, rather: not hidden, in the menu bar. I'm guessing that's what silent mode is referring to? I don't see silent mode as an option in the v. 0.7.6 General Options Pane.

Thanks for any additional help.

That's what it was. Try the beta.

Hey tick, btw, in the new beta, the growl menu bar item sometimes dissapears... is this a known issue? or should I add a new ticket?

Let's make a new forum thread and not boggart this one.

Hrm... I just installed the beta, but that didn't fix my problem.

My settings are:

Show Growl Icon in the menu bar: Check
Leave Notifications on screen after 30 seconds: Check
Hide All Notifications: NOT Checked

Applications:

Adium: Check
Cyberduck: Check
Etc.

DIsplay Options:

Screen: 0 (my primary display)

Network:

Listen for all incoming notifications: Check

Seems like a stretch, but at one point I compiled an input manager hack called The Bouncer (http://www.dribin.org/dave/blog/archive ... e_bouncer/)... Any thoughts if that would have messed with Growl?

Worth a shot with removing it. Remove it and then log out/back in.

ok, phew... that was the conflict... this program I was running had a weird input manager process which was interfering with Growl. Sorry for my error... thank goodness my growl is back in action.

Can you ping those developers about it?
