Music Video style slow

Postby MrMunkily » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:32 am

Hey, just upgraded to 1.1 and noticing a small issue.

Where my music video notifications used to slide up quickly and smoothly (500 msec) now they slide up slowly (1 s) and are kind of choppy.

Is this intentional?

I like the Music Video style, but in 1.1 I have also found it to be slow; but for me, its not choppy.

We've changed how the animation was coded (there's a more technical answer, its on the mailing list archives if you'd like to see) to make it a constant 1 second animation and not the prior method (which was not nearly as clean as it may have seemed.) We are aware of the issue that it seems slower for some.

Really dislike this, it looks like someone made a rubbish clone of the old growl music video style. Way too jerky and chuggy

brand new iMac here so really looks out of place when the rest of osx runs like silk

I don't like the new music video transition either, it's noticeably jerky/choppy even on my brand new iMac (2.4 GHZ and 4gb RAM). It's mostly when it first pops up that it bothers me.

the huge version feels much better because it takes around the same amount of time to appear but the distance is greater so a much faster transition and you don't notice the jerks as much.
