Growl seems to crash Apple Mail if there are several, maybe half a dozen or more new mail notifications at the same time.

I have had this problem on two computers.

From console:

Removing the GrowMail bundle from /Library/Mail/Bundles allows mail to run and download the mutiple new messages.
