Would be great to have a key that you can press to repeat the last notification in case you missed it.

I have the "sticky notification when idle" clicked on, which is great for when you come back to the computer after lunch, but it doesn't help for when you are concentrating heavily on a task (so you're not idle), and just can't look up to the corner of the screen for the few seconds that the note comes up. This is particularly helpful if you are using two screens (e.g. MacBookPro screen plus Cinema as external display behind/above it, effectively extending desktop vertically), so that your eyes really may be focused pretty far away from where the notification shows up.

Several times, I've wished that I could just press a key and get the last 1, 2 or 3 notifications to repeat.

I was actually thinking of something like a rolodex. It'd log all of your previous notifications, and then it'd show you that notification in a replay when you double click it.

I think Growl HIstory would be a great idea. It would be nice if you could choose a global history or an app specific history. Imagine "option-control-7" to get the last seven notifications or "option-control-m" to get the last 5 emails.
Another option would be to develop an AppleScript library for Hardware Growler, GrowlMail, etc. GrowlTunes has one command (show current track) in its library but its a useful one. I use it a lot to determine if I've rated the song that's playing. I've also tacked it on the end of my rating scripts so I receive a notification to verify the rating.
I've tried writting an AppleScript to resubmit existing notifications for existing applications, being careful to duplicate the original names and notification lists in my script but no luck. It always replaces the real GrowlMail with my new GrowlMail (which does precisely nothing).
Maybe it would be useful to "notify as application" instead of "register as application." Of course, I have no idea what's involved in building or modifying an AppleScript library. It seems promising to me but that doesn't mean its practical.

Sorry for bumping a dead thread, but I wasn't able to find another discussion on this topic. Has any feature involving accessing past Growl notifications been considered at this point in time? Thanks in advanced.
