Growl 1.1.2 / Leopard: Notifications appear in same place

In my installation of growl 1.1.2 with OS X 10.5, none of the custom starting positions I have defined for different applications (Adium 1.1.4, Transmission 0.93 for example) have any effect, as all notifications appear in the default position (in the upper-right corner). I did a clean install of Leopard and have tried removing Growl using the instructions on the main growl site, but the behaviour remains. I have the default notification style set to Nano, and every application is using Nano for their notifications.
I have also observed that if I remove an application from Growl's list (ex: StuffIt Expander), the next time that application opens it generates a notification, and is back on the list.
I'm not sure what type of logs I could provide which would be of assistance (or details about settings), so help on that would be appreciated as well.
