I probably missed it, but I could not find out anything from either the change log or in the first 10 pages of this forum saying anything about the growlctl tool.

Is growlctl available for 1.1.2? If not, are there plans to make it available?

It seems the version from 0.7.6 is working for what I need (the isRunning option), but it would be nice to know if growlctl will be a supported extra in the future.

There are no maintainers for it so it is no longer distributed and as you noted the prior version continues to work for those who need[ed] it.
