Growl Flooding Console

Growl appears to be dumping a large amount of garbage into the console, which is rather annoying to look through and is fills up disk space (slowly but surely.)

A search through the forum tells me that this is due to Growl attempting to forward notifications to another machine on the network, and timing out.

Still, I think something ought to be done about this, for two reasons:
Firstly, Growl is running on my MacBook, which moves around alot, and as such, is not usually connected to my home network, where the receiving machines are. It isn't practical to go into the preference pane and turn forwarding off every time I leave the house.
Secondly, this occasionally still happens when the machine is connected to my network, which is probably a different problem, but doesn't mean that the console should be flooded like this. Can't it be replaced by a less verbose message?
