problems with gmail

I just upgraded to 1.1.4. When I go into applications and select google+growl and then notifications, I can select "new event" or "new gmail". I select new gmail and choose a type of notifier and close the window, but it's not working.

When I come back, it doesn't look like it saved my changes, because I'm not getting gmail notifications.

I do hear the notification sound, but I don't see the display. I have a similar thing going for Entourage and everything works fine there.

This worked fine in the prior version... can anyone assist?

I have application style ical and display style above the night, but it seems whenever I go back there it defaults to calendar settings. I unchecked that one, but still no success. I can hear the notification, just nothing is appearing. And... this is only since starting with the new version.

Which display are you using?

under application settings; application display style is ical

then when i click on notifications, it says notifications and has a pull down window:

new event (google notifier)
new gmail (google notifier)

only new gmail one is checked

display style there says above the night.
