Hi, I was getting the "installation failed" error even with 1.14, and started searching on Google for solutions. Eventually I stumbled upon this forum, and a post about the same problem with an older version, which included the error output. Just before the error message was thrown to the user, this was in the log: "nil or empty path argument". It occurred to me that maybe that is exactly what was wrong - maybe the installer for some reason doesn't specify an install location by default. So I fired the installer up again, chose to change the location, was prompted to choose whether to install for all users or just myself (I chose all) and after that, the install went along just fine.

So anyway, worth a shot if you're still having trouble installing even with version 1.14.
