Any possibility of a printing problem with HardwareGrowler?

Postby k9gardner » Mon Mar 30, 2009 10:13 pm

From time to time, usually at the worst possible moment, I will attempt to print a document from Microsoft Office 2008, latest version, on my Mac running OS 10.5.6, and Growl/Hardware Growler 1.1.4, and the following problem will occur. The print dialog box comes up, I can select options and number of copies as needed, but when I hit "Print," nothing happens, and subsequent attempts to either Cancel or Print are fruitless. The only solution is to force quit the offending application (happens usually in Excel or Word), then logout/in and relaunch. If I don't log out or restart, it will not work again.

I'm just suspicious of HardwareGrowler because I haven't seen any similar posts on Microsoft or Apple boards, and I can't seem to figure out what's going on. It's also suspicious that Printer Proxy shows up as a running application when I do the force quit, which is not usually in the list of apps.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Unlikely that it's HWG.

I've never heard of any similar issue. Sounds more like Office or the OS.

Sorry.
