GrowlMail causes Apple Mail to hang for 1 min/reboot launch

Running 10.6.1 and 1.2 of Growl and GrowlMail. I have only one instance of GrowlMail running. I make a habit of running the Growl and GrowlMail uninstaller before I install new versions.

At startup, I login launch Mail, iTunes, Hardware Growler, GrowlTunes, SimplifyMedia, Dropbox, Default Folder X, and a few others. I am also running Prowl (for iPhone push).

Mail starts, but is unresponsive and shows "Not Responding" in Activity Monitor. After about 60 seconds, Mail loads normally and everything is fine. At this point, quitting and restarting Mail is uneventful, but rebooting leads to the same 60-second hang. Uninstalling GrowlMail returns Mail's behavior to normal at all times.

Other Mail bundles: OmniFocus Mail Clipper, SmartWrap, and SpamSieve.

I have MobileMe and an IMAP mail account in Mail.

In Activity Monitor, are both Mail and GrowlHelperApp hung at the same time?

Do you use 1Passwd?

Do you use Glims?

In Activity Monitor, only Mail is hung. No other app, including GrowlHelperApp, is shown as "not responding."

I use 1Password (v3 latest beta), but not Glims.

What happens if you remove 1Password from the Scripting Additions folder and launch Mail?

Removed 1Password from ~/Library/Scripting Additions. No change in behavior on reboot/mail Login launch. Still freezes for 1 minute, then all is fine.

I have 10.5.8, mail.app with 6 IMAP accounts installed. Mail CONSTANTLY crashes and locks up. I completely rebuilt all of my IMAP accounts and still had the problem. Then I tried disabling bundles, and with the disabling of growlmail, the problem ceased. I'd like to get it operating again, but at this point, it keeps me from working. Hope you can find a solution. I do not have any of the apps mentioned installed.

I can confirm this, same here (MacBook Pro 2009, Snow Leopard). Mail hangs for about 1min, sometimes longer. Deinstalling Growl Mail solved the problem.
