Hello,
I saw the previous post about disabling update checks in the control panel for 1.1.6, but wouldn't it be better if Growl knew what the correct version for the installed OS was? What if 1.1.6 is updated for a security problem? Or is it EOL, and will never be updated, so the point is moot?
Thanks,
-Michael
Daily update message in OS X 10.4

Yes, and we will make that change in a future version… which will require 10.5.mcarland wrote:I saw the previous post about disabling update checks in the control panel for 1.1.6, but wouldn't it be better if Growl knew what the correct version for the installed OS was?
If we release an update on the 1.1 line for a security problem, that's the only thing we're going to fix in that update. Replacing the existing update checker with Sparkle is a huge change, so we're not going to hold up a security update for it. And we will not release another 1.1 version for any other reason. What if 1.1.6 is updated for a security problem? Or is it EOL, and will never be updated, so the point is moot?
