Growl with gmail Notifier

First, Growl is a great app and thank you for making it available.

I installed the gmail notifier and cannot see it appear in the Growl app list? Is there something I need to do to rebuild the list to link Growl to gmail Notifier?

the official gmail notifier doesn't use growl (unless the feature's been added very recently - i contacted them not long ago to request that they added the option, no news yet tho afaik).
an alternative that does use growl is notify.

First, you should use its modern successor, Google Notifier.

Second, make sure you have Google+Growl installed.
